Rocksteady Nexus functions as a router, gateway, packet shaper, DHCP/NAT server, DNS server, SIP Proxy, authentication (AAA) gateway, and as a firewall with innovative abnormal behavior management and lightweight packet inspection – all in one easily-upgradeable, software-based platform.

The Nexus operates across wired and wireless Ethernet networks, managing the amount and quality of bandwidth sold, delivered and guaranteed to individual network clients. It provides Intelligent Bandwidth Management with QoS (Quality of Service) provided through segmentation and prioritization, protected by advanced security enforcement on a client-specific basis.

Authentication/Authorization -- The Rocksteady Nexus enforces authentication and dynamically applies your authorization policies to access network resources based on subscriber profiles through though LDAP or RADIUS directory services or employing Rocksteady's advanced Orthanc Keyring credential technology..

Auditing/Accounting — Detailed transaction records are sent to RADIUS, SYSLOG, or a mediation server as required for billing, accounting, and revenue assurance.

Customizable Firewall — using Rocksteady Orthanc technology, stateful packet inspection to ensure the highest level of security.

Backhaul VPN — IPSEC and Triple DES encryption to support up to 150 active tunnels to connect remote offices and protect business critical data. Supports most VPN concentrators.

Zero-Config Client VPN -- patent-pending Rocksteady Reach VPN technology unburdens users from the configuration nightmare of thick-client VPN solutions – no more passphrases, servers, port settings, and encryption to manage. With Rocksteady Reach, end users obtain an on-demand, secured connection to the Rocksteady Nexus, where network traffic is routed across secured or segmented networks.

Rocksteady Packet Analysis -- Rocksteady Networks’ upcoming packet inspection technology brings advanced virus/worm/SPAM/spyware detection to premise networks. Abnormal Behavior Management (ABM) -- Rocksteady Networks’ new patent pending technology for threat detection monitors the network edge, and proactively signals when activity typical of worm, virus, or denial of service (DoS) attacks reaches your chosen alarm threshold. ABM works as your network’s first line of aberrant behavior detection and protection, to quickly signal your security team, or a quarantine program into action. ABM rapidly addresses activity generated by new worm-like file sharing schemes which scan and distribute their processing and storage across open subscriber ports. Quality of Service -- By combining bandwidth segmentation, rate limiting, rate shaping and prioritization of subscriber traffic, superior quality of service (QoS) is achieved, ensuring the right amount of bandwidth at the right time to meet the subscriber’s application requirements.
